GHS selects Guest Houses only after personally visiting and experiencing them. Our staff conducts regular inspections of the selected properties, which must meet aesthetic and service standards to be part of our portfolio. In addition to inspecting the properties, we carefully visit the islands to ensure that operators are selling a product that meets the client's expectations. We pay particular attention to ensuring that Bikini Beaches are properly equipped and that the available beach area is sufficient for the number of rooms on the island. Another crucial aspect is related to general cleanliness, the services offered, and the quality and frequency of transport to and from the island.

Maldivian Guest Houses are accommodation facilities located on the local islands of the Maldives. They are true Beach Hotels, distinct from the traditional resort concept, yet they offer all the comforts at extremely competitive prices. On local islands, the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited, and there are beaches reserved for tourists, commonly known as “bikini beaches,” where swimwear is allowed. However, visitors should wear at least a sarong in other areas of the island. Apart from this, they are normal hotel facilities, often equipped with additional services such as Fitness Centres, SPAs, or centres for renting equipment for both motorised and non-motorised water sports. On all islands with Guest Houses, there is usually a Diving Centre either within or outside the premises. Staying in a Guest House, besides being particularly economical, offers the opportunity to interact with the local population and experience the true Maldives without missing out on the natural wonders offered by one of the most beautiful seas in the world.
